Throughout September, our school community will focus on the virtue of Courtesy: “Treating other people with respect, recognizing that all are made in God’s image and likeness.” ALL are made in God's image and likeness- now, that's an important lesson!
Students will hear this language in their classrooms, during morning announcements, through conversations with teachers, and in the everyday moments when they have opportunities to put courtesy into practice.
We aren’t simply teaching our students about their faith. We’re helping them learn how to live it. 💙💛

With the support of our parishioners and school families, our library was transformed over the summer because we know how important it is to give time and space for children to settle in with a good book.
During library time, our students are given something increasingly valuable: quiet, uninterrupted time to read. They explore books, listen to stories, talk about what they’re reading, and simply enjoy the peaceful experience of getting lost in a book.
Building strong readers takes instruction, of course—but it also takes time. Time to practice. Time to build attention and stamina. And time to discover that reading can be something you love.
That’s Academic Excellence at St. Edward’s in action! We cannot wait to watch our readers grow throughout the year! 💙📖

Jaguar Families,
Get ready - the Scholastic Book Fair is coming back!
This is a great opportunity to build your child’s home library with new books that will get them excited about reading, while also earning funds for our school.
The easiest way to let your child shop the Fair independently is by creating a Book Fair eWallet through our school homepage. It’s easy to set up and easy for family and friends to add funds.
With eWallet, you’ll also have the chance to contribute to Share the Fair™—the giving program that supports students at our school who need help buying books. Consider participating so that no child leaves the Fair empty-handed! Preview the books coming to the Fair by taking a 360° virtual tour via our school’s Book Fair homepage (https://www.scholastic.com/bf/stedwardschool3) and explore the titles, watch video book trailers, and more.
We can’t wait to see you at the Fair and help every student discover a book they’ll love!
**Watch bookbags, folders, and binders later this week for more information!
Happy reading!

These four words capture so much of what we want for every child who walks through the doors of St. Edward’s.
We want our students to be **known** by caring adults and peers.
To be **loved** exactly as they are, as children of God.
To be **rooted** in faith, family, community, and a solid academic base.
And to be continually **growing**—academically, spiritually, socially, and personally.
It’s the heart of what we hope to provide every day at St. Edward’s:
Where children are known, loved, rooted, and growing every single day.

We are easing into our first full week of 2026-2027!
A reminder that our Parents’ Club Meeting is Monday evening from 6:30–7:30 PM in the school library. Childcare is provided—we’d love to see you there!
Have a wonderful week, Jaguars!

Back-to-school week is almost here!
We can't wait to welcome our Jaguar families back for Back to School Night on Monday, August 10, from 5:00–7:00 p.m.
Join us for an evening of connection, conversation, and community as we kick off a wonderful new school year. Bring your school supplies, meet your teachers, enjoy a delicious potluck dinner, and participate in the talk and Q&A with Principal Cusack.
Until then, soak up the sunshine, make sweet summer memories, and enjoy the extra family time that this season brings.
We'll see you soon, Jaguars! 🐆

Our beloved music teacher, Ms. Lorelei, is stepping back from teaching music this year. We are so grateful for the love of music she has shared with our students over the past few years. We're thankful we'll still see her around campus as our Parish Secretary! We wish her all the best and hope she enjoys a little extra time to rest and recharge each week.
Are you interested, or do you know someone who might be a great fit for this wonderful opportunity?
We're looking for a part-time Music Teacher to join our growing school community for the 2026–2027 school year. This position is approximately one-half day per week and is a wonderful opportunity to share the gift of music with students in PreK–8.
Don't wait—school begins August 12! Reach out today for more information by calling 309-274-2994 or emailing lcusack@sainted.org.
