At St. Edward Catholic School your child receives an education that is grounded in the Roman Catholic faith. Spiritual and moral development permeates the entire curriculum at St. Edward. Many non-Catholic families also benefit from the fruits of an education that focuses on the total student: body, mind, and soul.
Catholic schools are renowned for academic excellence. Students in Catholic schools consistently score in the top 1/3 on nationally standardized tests. Iowa Basic Skills test scores of St. Edward students are consistent with these national scores.
St. Edward students model their dedication to community service each and everyday. Students enjoy helping others in their community. Each school year classes at St. Edward Catholic School choose service projects to participate in throughout their community. Students also make cards for area shut-ins and the 5th – 8th grade classes attended mass monthly at Heritage Manor, the local nursing home in Chillicothe, IL.
Throughout the year students also participate in various activities to support charities such as St. Jude Children Research, Relay for Life, and Juvenile Diabetes to name a few.
In a Catholic school, a child will be encouraged to further his or her education. The total number of Catholic high school graduates who continue their education is approximately 97 percent. Graduates of St. Edward School typically go onto to become valedictorians and salutatorians in their high schools.

St. Edward students participate in a host of extra-curricular activities including soccer, basketball, volleyball, declamation, student council, track and many more.
Parental involvement is a critical part of Catholic schools like St. Edward. Our very active Parent Club meets monthly and conducts various fundraisers to help support specific programs for students throughout the year. Many parents volunteer in the classroom, in the lunch room, and on field trips.
Nationally, the percentage of Catholic school students who finish high school is 98 percent. St. Edward School is committed to the philosophy that every student matters. Every effort is made to work with students who need remedial assistance. Academically gifted students are challenged within individualized programs that meet their level of learning.
